Debenham Green Team is a volunteer community group whose aim is reduce our environmental impact, build our resilience for a future with less cheap energy and a changing climate and to strengthen the local economy. We aim for our projects to be ever-changing and evolving, and we welcome new ideas and also working alongside existing projects in the village.

It evolved in 2022 from Debenham litter pickers, formed in May 2015 with Debenham Parish Council support. It includes Debenham Cycling Team and Debenham Community Nature Reserve.

Debenham Green Team is supported by BMSDC and Suffolk County Council. We are a totally inclusive group, working alongside the Parish Council, the High school, Primary school, the Leisure and Community Centre, local churches and other village groups. We aim to work for the benefit of the whole community, raising awareness of climate issues and how individuals in the community can make small simple changes to help.

Think Global, Act Local!

Our mission statement:

  • Reduce our environmental impact
  • Build our resilience for a future without cheap energy and a changing climate
  • Strengthen the local economy

Everybody can get involved! Why not get in touch and be part of the team?
